Why this exists

If you've ever searched for “Klaviyo vs Mailchimp” or “ShipStation alternatives,” you know what you get: generic listicles clearly written from marketing pages, or unstructured Reddit threads where you have to dig through 50 comments to find the one useful answer.

We sit in between. Our articles are structured and easy to scan like a listicle, but backed by real user data like a Reddit thread. Every claim links back to a real person's real opinion so you can read the full context.

How we research

For every article, we go through the same process:

1. Find where real users are talking. We search Reddit, Quora, YouTube comments, Shopify Community forums, G2, Capterra, and niche ecommerce forums for genuine discussions about each tool.
2. Read everything that ranks. Not skim — actually read. We note specific complaints, praised features, what tools people switch to (and from), and the business context they mention.
3. Identify patterns the existing articles miss. We compare what users actually say against what the top-ranking articles claim. The gap is usually where the real story is.
4. Write around the sourced data. Our articles synthesize user feedback with pricing data and feature comparisons. Every recommendation has a “why” and a source link.

What affiliate links never affect:

• Rankings in our calculators (cheapest is always sorted first)
• Which tools we recommend in articles
• Whether we include a tool in a comparison
• How we describe a tool's strengths or weaknesses

If the best option for your use case doesn't have an affiliate program, we still recommend it. Pirate Ship (completely free, no affiliate program) consistently ranks #1 in our shipping calculator because it genuinely is the cheapest option for most small sellers.

Pricing accuracy

Calculator pricing data comes from each platform's public pricing page and is verified regularly. The most recent verification was February 2026. If you spot a pricing discrepancy, please let us know.

SaaS pricing changes frequently. We do our best to keep things current, but always confirm on the provider's website before making a purchase decision.
